Privacy Policy
Last updated July 19, 2026
This policy explains what information SnapStocked collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to what the service needs to run your store, process orders, and stay compliant.
In short: we collect the information needed to operate your account and process orders. We never see or store full payment card numbers or EBT PINs — those are handled by our payment processors. We don't sell your personal information.
1. Who this policy covers
SnapStocked ("SnapStocked," "we," "us") operates a commerce platform that gives independent food retailers a branded online store with distributor integration and online SNAP/EBT. This policy applies to our platform, marketing site, and the storefronts we host. It is issued by [SnapStocked legal entity].
When you shop at a retailer's storefront, that retailer decides what to sell and how to run their business; SnapStocked processes the related information on their behalf as described in "Retailers on the platform" below.
2. Information we collect
- Account information — name, email address, and password credentials when you create an account, and role (shopper or store staff).
- Order information — the items you order, order status, pickup/fulfillment details, and order history.
- Payment information — processed by Stripe. We receive a payment token and limited transaction metadata (amount, status, last-4/brand where provided); we do not receive or store full card numbers.
- SNAP / EBT information — when you use SNAP online, your EBT payment is processed by Forage, an FNS-authorized EBT processor. We store only a processor token and the SNAP/card split of the transaction — never your EBT card number or PIN.
- Store & catalog data — for retailers, your products, pricing, inventory, and the distributor documents (EDI) exchanged on your behalf.
- Usage & device data — basic log data such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, used to keep the service secure and reliable.
- Communications — messages you send us and email we send you (for example, order confirmations).
3. How we use information
- Operate your account and host the storefront.
- Process orders, payments, SNAP/EBT split-tender, and refunds.
- Sync catalog pricing, inventory, and reordering with distributors over EDI.
- Send transactional email (order confirmations, status updates, "ready for pickup").
- Secure the platform, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal and program (e.g. SNAP) obligations.
- Provide support and improve the service.
4. Payments and SNAP/EBT data
Payment card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure fields in your browser and tokenized before they reach us — SnapStocked never sees or stores a full card number. SNAP/EBT transactions are handled by Forage, an FNS-authorized third-party processor; we store only the token and split-tender amounts required to record the order. Consistent with SNAP rules, tax and fees are never charged to EBT.
5. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Card payments, connected-account settlement to each retailer |
| Forage | Online SNAP/EBT processing (FNS-authorized) |
| Supabase | Database, authentication, and file storage |
| Vercel | Application hosting and delivery |
| Email/EDI providers | Transactional email and distributor (EDI) message transport |
We also share information with the retailer whose store you shop at (they receive your order), and where required by law, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a business transfer.
6. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate your cart and checkout. We do not use advertising cookies. You can control cookies in your browser, but disabling essential cookies may break sign-in and checkout.
7. Data retention
We keep account and order records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and program (SNAP) record-keeping obligations. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for these purposes.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Each retailer's data is isolated at the database level using row-level security, and payment credentials are tokenized by our processors rather than stored by us. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at privacy@snapstocked.com. We will respond consistent with applicable law. If your data was collected through a specific retailer's store, we may direct your request to that retailer.
10. Children's privacy
SnapStocked is intended for adults purchasing groceries. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Retailers on the platform
When you shop at a storefront, the retailer is the business you are buying from and determines what data it collects through its store; SnapStocked acts as its service provider/processor and handles that information on its behalf under our agreement with the retailer. Retailers are responsible for their own privacy practices and any legal notices their business requires.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
